Running an HP omnibook 900 with NT 4.0 SP5. I installed regmon from www.sysinternals.com and activated the boot time monitoring of the registry. At boot I get a blue NT load screen and the message regmon logging registry activity. The boot grinds for a minute and then crashes with the ***STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC000009A,0x80109C8F, 0x8013DDE4, 0x00000040) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED*** Address 8019c8f has base at 80100000 - ntoskrnl.exe ***address 8013dde4 has base at 80100000 - ntoskrnl.exe

followed by a stack dump.

Regmon worked fine during normal NT operation. How do I recover or deactivate regmon which has installed itself as the initial system driver.

crashedagain,

I guess I should have mentioned this somewhere along the line.

DO NOT run regmon to log the boot. This is typically what happens.

Does it continue to run on EVERY boot?
