I would like to use the Administrator account to log on to my machine but I read that it is not safe when using the Internet. But you can't download and run programs without being on that account which sucks. Is it really that unsecure if you have a Firewall? Please explain this as I am a newbie to this high security lingo using Windows 98 for years.

I think it's pretty safe. Especially running a firewall.

To strengthen your security even further, create a new user account.

Add the new user to the administrators group

Use the user account instead of the admin account.
