Hi all, is there some way to change the default "page setup" settings for Notepad like; margins, page orientation and such, so I don't have to change them everytime I open the app?

You may be better off doing it in Wordpad. Notepad is a text editor, not a word processor, and has very limited capabilities.

Hi Joey,
What Bert said is right - there is no way to set default margins/page setup properties in Notepad. However if you MUST use this program, you will have to run a macro (w/ win98 macro recorder) every time you start a new document. If you attach it to a keystroke (I think this is possible) it might save you some time. But is it really worth it......?

For Notepad, it's not really worth it. There's no reason to use that when Wordpad worksjust the same, and even better.

try using edit pad -- i like this one much better than note pad (plus it has the option to stay on op so you can jot notes down as you go without having to change screens. i may be wrong, but i think you can change the page setup in edit pad. (havent used it in a while -- since my puter was struck by lightning and i have to use a friends to get my daily puter fix!!)

My feelings exactly - however the point that I made was if Joey HAD to use it, that was the only way to get around his little problem. Don't forget there are times when using WordPad is not necessarily the easiest thing to do. It could be that he wants to write/view/print code and in most versions of IE you can only set the default HTML editor to either Notepad, Word or FrontPage etc...
