Pain in the *** excel (W2K)

I'm having real big problems with excel at the moment. There are at least three machines that will crash under excel (97 and 2000) when you go to print and / or print preview. It throws up the error, excel.exe has generated arrors and will be closed by windows you will need to restart the program. one theory i had was that it was corrupt files, as we were hit by a virus a while back. But now it's happening with new files to!! help please
