Been having this intermittent problem for a while now. It seems to follow me accross installations. Its an issue I've been trying to solve for some time. Some may even remember the minor fiasco I caused with my first posts in this forum months ago.

Now, since them I've rebuilt my computer. The current installation is less then 2 months old. I went on the assumption that the problem is in Explorer.exe and have been using PowerDesk since.

(The problem:) As I write this, if I were to open Explorer and use it to create a new directory, I'd get a LONG delay after selecting "New Folder" from the menu. After this delay, a directory called "New Folder" is created, HOWEVER, it usually isn't selected and ready for me to rename. I have to click on it, hit F2, rename the new directory, then deal with another LONG delay.

Important things to note:

1) It's an intermittent problem, usually surfacing after Windows has been running for some time. Typically, this problem shows up when I've been surfing the web with a many, many IE windows open.
2) When Explorer exhibits these symptoms, PowerDesk does not. (PowerDesk has never exhibited these symptoms.)
3) If I use Explorer to create a directory, PowerDesk will display the directory right away. Explorer, however, will hang for some time, displaying the symptoms mentioned above.
