Langa.com offers this program (Clean.bat). Anyone willing to offer pros or cons? Thanks,

What's it supposed to do? A search on Langa didn't find clean.bat but there's several .bat with the word clean and other characters in their file names.

I think Jimmie means one of <a target="_blank" href=http://www.langa.com/cleanup_bat.htm>these</a>

Jimmie,
It's just a batch file that cleans out your various cache folders, etcetera, and like any batch file it lets itself be edited to exclude things you don't like to get zapped on startup, and include things you'd like to add to the list.
I have only two lines in my autoexec.bat emptying the contents of the Temp. Internet Files and the Recent folders, but some people like to add everything you could possibly imagine.
It's a matter of taste.
If you want to use one of those, just be sure to check whether there aren't any things in there you'd prefer not to be deleted on Startup, and also verify that all paths are correct.

Empty Temp Folders (emptemp) helps you manage folders that contain temporary files, left over
by other applications. It's easy to add any folder and you can empty a folder (or all folders)
with one click.
will maybe do what you want. haven't checked it (yet), so I don't know whether you can have it run at startup.

Picapica; Thank you!
I have tryed using a bat file in autoexe.bat but it sure slows down the booth up process. When I boot up I like to get on and check mail and forums without the wait. Then when I'm caught up and bored I go into DOS and deltree my tempor~1 and history files and folders. Just my opinion.

how about not adding a bat file in the autoexec, but simply adding a few lines in the autoexec with delete commands? I don't know, maybe it's faster (would surprise me though).
Can you tell me how deltree is defined? I mean what parameters to use. If it's the same as the simple 'del' dos command, I know how to use it.
Also, you can use TweakUI to erase any type of 'history' on your pc at startup. It's quite 'lightweight' and there is never a whole load of 'history' so it shouldn't slow down boot process with seconds.

Langa recommends you NOT add the cleanup.bat to the autoexec.bat file, because if you install a program, and it stores files in TEMP, to complete the install upon restart, you will delete the files before the completion of the install. BAD IDEA. Cleanup.bat contents can be viewed by opening it with notepad (just right click and choose EDIT). Langa recommends that you do this before running the program, to ensure that it is configured for your specific setup. It is really just a quick way to delete temp files. Clean98.bat is more extensive, and thus, must run in DOS mode to delete all of the files. All of this info is right there on the Langa.com site (Downloads).
