PC Rebooting During Game Installation (WME)

Hi, When i install a game or piece of software my pc monitor goes blank , the pc is still active but it stops sending a signal to my monitor (i have a digital monitor).
Some times the pc will reboot other times i end up repowering it as the monitor has turned itself off...

this only happens when installing something
any ideas.......

I'm sorry I can't help with your problem, but what exactly is a digital monitor? Isn't digital coax or fiber optic?

As you can tell, I'm no hardware guru.

By digital monitor, the meaning is probably about the Flat Panel LCD screen. Which is not to be confused with the Flat Screen monitor. Amazing how 'knowledgeable' salespeople screw that one up.

By Digital monitor i mean a normal CRT monitor but with a Digital On Screen Display. So you have an on screen display to set up and adjust your monitor.
This is how i get the following error message on the screen "No Signal"
