Jerky Video With Media Player

I've PIII 700 128MB Win ME, the Windows Media Player
(any version) plays Jerky videos perticularly
MPEG & MOV Even from HD Drive
Please suggest a solution (do not say Xing Media Player).

I'm surprised you'd get that with the older 6.4 version. Here's a (correct) quote from a magazine regarding Windows Media Player 7.0:
"Media Player 7 is a groosly obese bucket of lard that wheezes its way to the desktop at the speed of a dying snail"

What programs are running in the background?
What loads on startup? Check msconfig.
Have you done routine maintenance like cleaning out the c:\windows\temp directory and run Scandisk & Defrag?

Reghakr that is so funny! I love it. .. . but oh so true I sacked 7.0 & went back to the good ol 6.4
I think 7.0 is a resource hungry piece of work that lots of people have tried & deleted
