keyboard and mouse (W98)

while the computer is booting up,,keyboard and mouse work,,can go in to bios,,can click with mouse to ok login,,but after desktop come up,,mouse freezes and keyboard does not function,,even did a reinstall of win 98 and same thing happens,,,,any idea's.

How can I become so smart and still feel dumb when it comes to IT.

Check to see if your mouse,keyboard work in safe mode, if they work during boot they should work in safe, the way I understand it is that safe uses one set of drivers and normal uses another set.If they do go to control panel>system>device mgr>view devices and see if you have any yellow ? marks on any of the items, if so get back with the info. go from there... jackha
