after multiple documents are opened, usually 4 or 5, any documents opened after that apper to have all the normal hidden reveal codes shown in the documents. If i close the documents and reopen them, then they appear normal..Any ideas? I have reinstalled office and cleaned up registry keys to the best of my knowledge

Are you referrring Word??
okay, this sounds like the template or normal.dot has a problem. Even you reinstalled it, the file stayed. make sure the file normal.dot is not in your c:\ drive anyway. if you see it, delete that, and reinstall it.

1 On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the View tab.
2 Under Nonprinting characters, select the check boxes of the characters you want to display.
Tip To display all nonprinting characters, select the All check box instead of selecting each individual check box. You can also turn the All option on or off by clicking
