my sound card and video card share the same IRQ, so that could be the problem here...but here's the situation: when i change resolutions in windows...either in a game or a winamp plugin or something, winamp skips...and i'm pretty sure it's because of the resolution changes. anyone know how to fix this, or if it is possible? thx.

Does the sound skip just for the few seconds that the resolution is doing its thing, or do you mean it skips from that point on till you reset the player app?

If it is just for the few seconds that the resolution is changing, then you'll just have to live with that. You are asking the computer to institue a big change and one that touches a large part of your system in some way, so some resources are going to have to be dirverted away from things lower in priority (like playing music) or some processes that access the video system (like winamp or games) may have to be suspended temporarily while the changes to the video system are made.
