is there any was to control the font color used on the desktop?

There probably is in the Appearance tab of Display Properties. I think it has to be done on the individual items that have font settings.

unfortunately, there's no font setting for the desktop item in the appearances tab. i was hoping someone might know of a registry setting for this.

On my Win98 and WinXP computers, it means there is no font to change.

Dunno where the reg settings are, but you can do it the easy gui way with DeskTop Architect. Go Tools, Options, Advanced and set the desktop font to any font used in your settings. Choose the Icons tab to set Icon text color.

eep sorry not Icons tab, its under the Appearance tab.

But if I'm not mistaken, DeskTop Architect is a third-party add-in program, not everyone will have it.

Right click on an empty area of the desktop. Select properties. Click the appearance tab. Then select Icons in the item list. There you can change the font color for the items on your desktop. You can also change the size of the icons. Hope this was what you were looking for.

Yes, but its Freeware, on CNet downloads, Tucows, and gettable other places as well - so that wouldn't be that much of a factor.
