Hi, recently had a really slow Outlook 2002. Starting the thing up took about 20 seconds, this being new machine with P4 1.6Ghz 256 Ram, it was a bit odd.
Judging by the number of tips available to solve this, it seems the problem can have more than one cause.
In my case it was solved by, in MS Outlook:
Tools>Options> 'Other' tab : disable the 'Instant Messaging'.
It makes a difference of about 19.4 seconds.
