Double Click Problem (WNT)

My friend uses NT4, and currently he has problem to launch any program on desktop with double click. however, there is no problem with running program with right click->open. initially he installed Yahoo messager, but had problem with D32-FW.dll, after uninstalling the messager together with some other applications, the problem pops up.

Please adivse me how to fix it. Thanks

is the left mouse button faulty??? try clicking on an icon on the desktop with the left mouse button and see if that icon will get selected?.
