office hangs when closeing (WXP)

the system it is running windwos xp and office 2000. when the user closes a word or excel doc. office comes back with not responding. if you let it sit for a few mins it will finly close. i was woundering if anyone new of a hack or regedit that would help on the closeing time.

this sound liek a problem with the normal.dot file. this is the office template file and it basically tells office how to work. this may have become corrupt lots of macro virus's affect this file. I'd check for virus's and replace the normal.dot. rename the current file to a ".old" extension so you can change back if neccassary. I'll send a copy of my normal.dot file if you can't get one.

i have deleted the .dot file and it stills closes very slow.
