MS Word Vs. Mapped Drives

@ the company i work there's a PC as a workstation that when i log in there's some mapped drives. I have mapped one F: that the path is \\server\ and other H: that maps the personal folder of the user \\server\vol1\data\company\rh\user\. In this user folder there's some word docs that if i go through Internet Explorer and double clicks it opens normaly, but if i have already opened the MS word and try to open through word through that mapped drive H 3 windows open w/ messages that says that the path is incorrect. Although if i try to open through F it works normaly.

It's a mystery for me.

Can anyone help me?
