My Quick Launch Toolbar has gone from the W2K taskbar. When I try to switch it on, I get the message "Cannot create toolbar".

This problem is of course the result of me cleaning out various windows folders, trying to get space by killing of pre-upgrade remnants of W98... Does anybody know by which registry entry or perhaps folder change or creation I can reinstate my Quick Launch toolbar?

you mean, when you mouse-Right click -> Toolbars -> Quick Launch
it gaves the error "cannot create tool bar".
When does it give you the error?

I did solve my problem already, but like to answer your question. I got a little error-pop-up about 1.5 sec after Right click -> Toolbars -> Quick Launch.
This made me guess that the functionality was still there, it just couldn't find it.

What I did wrong, and what made the bar disappear, was that I f***ed around with the locations of folders for 'all users' and 'current user' etc. By putting the Microsoft/IE/QuickLaunch folder back in the right (system) folder (AplicData), it worked again.

Anyway, I found out the hard way that I can move the system folder to a preferred location, but not subfolders out of it...
