Whenever you launch RealPlayer in a Windows
session it automatically displays itself in the right hand corner at next start-up and the msconfig start up menu says C:\ProgramFiles\RealPlayer
\....\SYSTEMBOOTHIDEPLAYER. Which is why of course this happens. Is there anyway other than running an msconfig and removing the check mark from RealTray every time you reboot to disable this? The folks at Real Networks weren't much help as I suspected.

robblaw,

If it's the very latest RealOne Player, I'm not sure if the following applies.

Check Add/Remove Programs and make sure Real Download is not installed. If it is, uninstall it.
Also open Real Player, go to View>Prefernces, click the Settings button and make sure Start Center is DISABLED.

Then click the Content tab. Under Channels>Settings, uncheck both boxes. Under real.com News, unsubscribe from all from all subscriptions. Under Web Browser, uncheck "Enable Automatic Links".

Under the Upgrade tab, click "Turn off notification for 30 days, then click the Settings button under real.com Product Flashes and cancel all subscriptions.

Under the Support tab, uncheck ALL boxes.

This will almost totally disable Real Networks from tracking your habits.
