View Full Version : Add and Remove program not working (W2K)

I double click on Add and Remove programs in my control panel and it doesnt open. I tried replacing the appwiz.cpl with one comming from a system that works. Nothing happend it didnt fix it.

Does anyone know how to fix this.

I had that happen to me before. M$ has something on this. Check their Knowledge Base articles.

Go to Start>Run, and type regsvr32.exe appwiz.cpl, then shutdown and restart.

Following up from Reghakr's posting, check your Appwiz.cpl file in \winnt\system32 directory.

If the file is under 100kb, its most likely your appwiz file is busted!!! Normally, the original file is 290kb in size.
