I accidently changed the default value in the regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/URL/Prefixes

I changed the default value in http//: and now every program that I try to open (word, excel, even regedit itself) now opens with internet explorer.
I would like to change it back in to the default value but I don't know how to do it.
I tried save mode but it didn't work.

regards,

Sidney

Try hitting F8 on startup, choose command prompt only. At the c: prompt, type:
cd\windows\command
then type:
scanreg /restore
and choose a date prior to the problem.

Remember to export the key next time
