I have a dial up account on windows 2000 Pro SP2 even though I tick remeber password it keeps defaulting back to some other password. Internet Explorer kees defaulting back to this other password also. So I was wondering is there a reg line I put some where to specify the password or something??????? I have tried reinstalling dial up networking as well

In Windows 2000, its somewhat of a security feature for the password in Dial Up networking to look MUCH longer than it really is. For example, if my password is 5 characters long, the saved password in DUN will still look like its 15 characters long, and will work just fine. Was this what you meant?

I'm new to all this but it seems that you need to uninstall the p/words that are affecting your DUN. Try this ....... Start/Serch/Find Files, then type in *.pwl Search the "C" drive and you should see all the pass words windows uses, then just deleat the offending one.
Hope this works.
