hi all, my mum just got a company laptop, and understandable they have diabled the run comand fromt he start menu and limited control pannel ect.
My mum really wants to change her backround on the desktop, i have tryed the usual ways to get around this but they have removed all the possible options.
Anybody know how to hack past it, thanks

Not directly to point, but what I'd do is find the image that is the current background, rename it, find the image I want to use, and give it the name of the old image and copy it to the same place. If the images are about the same size and resolution, it should work.
All this in lieu of removing the restrictions.

You might browse through the Registry forum, there's been some postings there that may help.

Open the desired pic in MSPaint and choose File > Set as wallpaper.

install poledit on the machine and then choose to open the registry you should then be able to remove the restrictions. Poledit is part of the reskits but is sometimes included on OS cds tucked away in tools folders.
Do a search on the machine for poledit.exe sometimes its left on the hard drive from the original install.
