I am running Win2k Professional and sharing a file folder to access over a network. Is there a way to increase the maximum user limit from 10 to 20, 30, 40...etc?

yes, that's very easy to do, but you've got to have an NTFS file system. i'm pretty sure that FAT32 won't do it--but you can always try this if you've got a FAT32 file sys. if you're running an NTFS system then right click on the folder--go to sharing, and then say "share this folder" then say "maximum users=30." that should do it. you could also get an ftp program and create an ftp site that lets you regulate sharing priveleges quite heavily. but if you don't know how to limit and increase allowed shares for a folder, it probably won't be a good idea to screw with ftp stuff cause it can be a little complicated for the average user. best of luck to ya.

unfortunately that didn't work. W2k Pro only allows 10 users max connected to your pc at one time. What I need to know is whether or not there is a way to modify the registry to bypass the 10 user limit. Please help!

i see, i don't know a regedit for that, sorry. but like i said, you can always get an ftp program and set yourself up an ftp site and then you can regulate from there how many people can dl at one time. hope this helps.
