I have 2 pcs one is win98 and other win2000, connected through LAN. I am unable to share the files. When I access files from win98 PC its asking for password for win 2000 PC. When I enter admin password its giving an error

You'll need to add a user on the Win2K machine. Right-click My Computer, hit Manage, select Local Users and Groups, right-click Users, and hit New User. Fill in the User Name and Password (it can be blank), and check Password never expires.

Log onto the Win98 machine with that username and password and you should be able to access the shares.

if you use a peer to peer like I did at my homenetwork.. You don't need to put in password, just go to either the win2000 or win98 folder and put a share name on the folder or directory and that will do it. All you have to do is use tcp/ip as your protocol and map to a drive like \\192.168.1.1\c$
and that will do it... good luck
