My problem is, I have a Win 2K Advanced Server. I am using it for a Print Server. It has plenty of space and plenty of memory. However, all of a sudden the other day I cannot add any more printers. I get the error message saying "Printer Driver was not installed, Operation could not be completed" and no matter what kind of port I create, everytime i get through the entire wizard it stops at the end and prompts me with that error message. Does matter what kind of printer it is either. I am logged in as administrator. I have all the rights I need, cuz I installed printers before with no troubles. I think something might have changed maybe in the registry. Any ideas?

You need to restart the Printer Spooler service.

Click Start , Programs , Administrative Tools , and then click Services .

Double-click the Printer Spooler service, click start, and then change the startup type to Automatic .

Then try installing your printer.

Um...the spooler service is started and has been started...there is other printers on the server already running ok. That was the first thing I checked. Thanks though

Sorry ir1shm1ike, I’m all out of ideas on this one.
If I were in your shoes, I would eliminate as many possibilities as I could.

Try to establish if this is a Windows issue or the printer’s.
Try adding another printer different make/model.
If you can’t get another printer, try the same one but with windows generic drivers. Or better still; see if the manufacturer has an updated driver.
Search the MSN knowledge base for know issues with that particular printer.

I found these two links, hope it helps;
