No logon servers to service request msg (W2K)

Ive just installed a win2000 server and domain. However on some computers at irregular intervals i get a message - No logon servers available to service your request - message, and as a consequence cant use network resources.
I problem is worse to track down because it often goes away after about 2 hours, and is not consistent as to when or which machine this occurs on.

Can you provide more details on the size of your network.

If you have one Primary Domain Controller (PDC) servicing all logon requests and performing other tasks then these types of errors are likely to be seen? To prevent these you need to add a Backup Domain Controller (BDC) to relieve the burden on the PDC.

This may not be your problem but if you provide more details on your network configuration it may help pin down the problem.
