In case anyone's into cool stationery...I discovered this website with scrolling, musical stationery for Outlook Express. You need to be sure to read the instructions on how to use.

Only OE can use the Advanced download. If you choose standard, sorry.....no music or scrolling. Outlook can only use the Standard download. The midi files automatically go with each selection.

The site has screensavers, etc. also.

I tried that IncrediMail program a couple months ago, but it gave me too many problems and error messages. It also left a bunch of junk in the registry after the uninstall.

It's also been mentioned what an unsecure email program it is. It just wasn't worth it to me.

I feel the same way about inbred mail it takes over your registry and corrupts everyones desktop...

And the tech support would only say that is was my problem... No help very nasty on the replies.. told me I was on my own to restore my settings.... They would only answer the questions with B.S. sorry but this site taugh me enough to know it was really B.S.

Oh well it is gone... it was gone 10mins after I loaded it for the wife because when I went to my desktop it took it over to cause it changes stuff in the hk classes root... I'll stick with OE

You can do the fancy stationary with OE just check the menu at the top.....

inbred mail rates up there with the 25.00 dollars programs that cliam to make you puter better...

Junk snake oil.....

Sorry I went off but I hate programs like that....

Thanks

what every one forgets about OE that it is also a Newsreader, it has quite a few add-ons including security plug-ins, it integrates with MSN Messenger.

Yes there is a risk associated with OE but only if the user is a complete idiot and opens every e-mail & attachment without a virus scanner or firewall.

which can be said about many other progs as well.

And above all that, info about OE user issues is almost every where on the net ; not neccessarily from microsoft support.

did i forget Hotmail ... well, that too.

You say OE integrates with Messenger, but it's the other way around. Who wants that anyway; it's a leech. People want to know how to 'unattach' it from OE.

I read on a forum where one guy said several people had to restore their systems, because of that rotten Messenger program when the latest version came out!

I have msn running on my system for the wife... It runs just fine....

as far as getting a virus from email you have to set up OE to run using the settings as per IESpy...

That is using the restrict zone settings has nothing to do with IE..... OE will open all mail no matter who it is from using the restricted site list

and you have to be on top of the extensions turn them on so you can see all and don't open the ones that can do harm... no matter who they are from...

I have had email senders send mail in a different form cause the way they sent it is on my no open list...

I have seen posts about how to delink MSN from OE....

Thanks

Mac,

A lot of ppl. use it with no problems. I'm using MSN Explorer now, and Messenger installed with it. I don't have a problem with it myself or use it at all.

I've done that reghack to unintegrate with OE. I only use OE to send emails, not receive so no email security issues.

Have you ever heard of this program? I installed it recently but haven't gotten it all configured or used it yet.

A messenger called Trillian.

It has the ability to message using MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL-AIM, and IRC messaging services. Plus, it allows you to sign into your various accounts, and have mail notification when something arrives in your different mailboxes.

Here's the link, if you'd like to read a bit more.....
http://www.trillian.cc

This will save space from downloading a bunch of various messengers, the program is a only little over 2 MB in size, and is "skinnable" to include the look and features you prefer.

Take care,
Carol

point taken ; I should have said it the other way around as you say , but I was not praising it in any way. Just mentioning it in relation to OE..

If I am not mistaken, Yahoo messenger does a lot of things you have in Trillian (unless they changed that now as I have not been up to date on them).

By the way, for e-mail users, as of today Yahoo POP3 is no longer free. So forget about downloading your Yahoo inbox into outlook unless you pay subscribtion.
