I use Outlook 2000 for email and general organisation. I have created an address book in Outlook. When I am in Word I want to be able to access my address book in Outlook but when I click the link in word no addresses are found.

Can anyone shed any light on how to fix this problem

Go to Internet Explorer click on Tools – Internet Options – Programs and verify that Microsoft Outlook is managing your Contact List.

I ran Norton Utilities on the PC for various reasons and I got an error "gapi32.dll might be on a removable drive or non visable volume such as a NTFS drive or on a network If C:\winnt\system32\MAPISRVR.EXE cannot be found you might need to reinstall". I searched for gapi32.dll and it was on the PC and in exactly the same place on other PC's that did not have the problem. My feeling is that it is something to do with MAPISRVER as this is directly involved with the email client.

No, this has everything to do with Norton Utilities not MAPISRVER or at least that’s what Norton have said;

Everybody)

One last thing Hillary, have you fixed the Word email problem? Should I stop searching for a solution and take a break? Or do you still have it?
Let me know.

Although your post is from April, I wondered if you ever figured out what your problem was with the "gapi32.dll" error message. I am also receiving it. Cannot access a necessary file (gapi32.dll)

Anyone still having problems with the "gapi32.dll", give this one a try. This solution, at one time, was posted on Norton/symantic web site.
Do a search for "gapi32.dll" I found it in
C:/Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\Mapi\1033\NT
Do a copy then Past it into folder
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
For me, it solved the problems that are mentioned in this thread.
To the best of my knoledge, it couldn't hurt to try. :-)
