I have a Deskjet 632C on ECP port (LPT1). I have now added a Lexmatk X73 which is on USB. It is now my default. Occasionally I want to print to the Deskjet. I drag a file to it but I get a note that it is not my default printer and it will not print. How can I get around this and print to the Deskjet w/o making it my default? It prints OK in DOS (copy (filnam) prn). But then I do not have USB enabled for DOS. It is easy to change defaults, but what I would like to do is make an entry in the "send to" folder which would allow me to direct a file directly to the LPT1 port by using context. But context insists on using the default.

What program/s are you printing from in Windows? Most all will give you a chance to pick a printer if you use File, Print. The icon on the tool bar of Microsoft Office can be changed to give the same choice instead of using the default.
Another choice: Open Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\SendTo and click on it once. Now scroll down to Printers [below the CD icon], open the folder, right-click and drag each printer icon to the SendTo folder. Select the Create shortcut here choice. When you right click a file, the choice of printers should be there.

Bert:
I can drag them both to "Send To", but it will only open the one which is 'default'. If I try to open the other one, it will ask if I want to make it the default.
This is one solution, but not quite what I hoped for. I need a way to send it directly to 'LPT1' as we do in DOS, I guess.
