Please forgive me if this is not the right plase to place this post.

But, I'v recently purchased the game Pod Racer (Star Wars) and I'm getting a little tired of always having to insert the CD every time I want to play the game.
Is there any one who knows a way of how to over come this iratating problem. Thanks in advance...

The CD-ROM disk holds up to 650 or 700MB of files required for the program. Some programs will let you copy the whole CD to the hard drive and set up and run from there, but most won't [I think it has to do with drive letters]. There is software available on the 'Net that emulates a CD drive, but I haven't paid attention to where I have seen it.

I have read into using Clone CD programs but it gets pretty deep.
You may want to look at

Or a Google search for Clone CD

If I ever get a larger hard drive I may look into VirtualCD myself.

A person certainly could get carried away with it. But look back at the bulletin board setups with multi CD drives.

I looked back but did not find "bulletin board setups" but I did see in the screen shots that it will compress 61mb down to 6mb. Maybe 20gb is enough! /images/forums/icons/smile.gif

By 'bulletin board setups' I meant back in the days before the popularity of the 'Net [I got my first computer in '92, a 386-40MHz, 4MB, 120MB]. Whenever a bulletin board offered software for download, it usually was on a CD running in a stack or bank of CD drives in SCSI towers, usually up to 6 drives in each, may even have been a stack of hard drives. Then they could leave the disk in a drive and always available. The fastest computer available at the time was pretty much required as the 'boards' made their money from subscribers.
