Hi
I am having security problems with my network. Can I remove help from the Start menu as users are using this to find a back door into my system.
Thanks

First, a few words of gentle admonishment: You'd do well to
(a) make the subject description of your post a bit more descriptive so we know if we can "help" out, and
(b) make use of the search function on this forum

Now, on to the solution. You can't remove help. BUT, some smart fellow (but a lousy speller--must be an engineer) posted this suggestion:

http://www.regedit.com/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/showpost.pl?Board=brdQuestions&Number=2044&page=5&view=expanded&sb=5#Post2044

i hve recently had to set up some macheines for my work where display of the run, find, settings, documetns, etc etc. on the START menu is disabled.

I did not find a way to remove help from the START menu, however, i found that renaming the C:\Windows\Help directory to something like C:\Windows\NoHelpHere prevents anyone from being able to launch help from the START menu. Instead, you get a message "Cannot Open File: %systemroot%\help\windoschm" and all they can do is click OK to clear the error mesaage.

Unfortunatly i beleive this also disables you from launching windows help from ANYWHERE in the computer or in any of the windows programs.

For us it wasnt a problem, for you that might be. I hope this gives you SOME help.

Regards...
