Everytime I open Word I get the following message, "Run-time error 5981, could not open Macro Storage" I have consulted the Microsoft knowledgebase and all that was stated that it is a failure to initialize VBA, however they dont say how to resolve the fault. Any advice would be most appreciated.

I have actually seen several fixes for this:
Could Not Open Macro Storage Error (Run-time error 5981)
1. This can be caused by a corrupted Normal.dot file. Delete the normal.dot and word will create a new one when word is opened.
2. You can get the error message "Could not open macro storage". This is caused by either not having Service Pack 1 installed with Microsoft® Office, or because the Visual Basic and Microsoft® Word installation has become corrupted.
To fix it you will need to either install Service Pack 1, if it has not been installed before, or reinstall Microsoft® Word.

Hi Mancinni,
i remember reading something about the normal.dot being corrupted with this error
try renaming the normal.dot to normal.dot.old and restart the MS Word
good luck
