Office XP (no history) (WXP)

I have upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP, but I no longer have a list of my recently used files under the tab "File" (in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and when I go in "Tools>Options>General", I cannot check or configure "Recently used files list".
Can someone tell me if there is some sort of registry tweaking which could help me out?
