I Recently changed motherboards and processors in my computer, and after that my floppy disk drive has not worked. I bought a second floppy disk drive thinking that i broke the other one, and installed it. It recognized it as new hardware and said it was installing it. But it won't recognize it. It just says drive A is not accessible. I have tried several solutions on Microsoft's Website trying to fix by going into Safe Mode. I don't really know what is making it not work, but i think it may have to do with haveing 2 floppy drives and not recognizing the new one. (Note: It also says under performance tab in the System file in the control panel quote" Drive A is using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system" Can anyone tell me what may be wrong and how to possibly fix it?

Thanks

When you turn on your PC does your floppy LED light go on and then off or does it stay on constantly. This is without a floppy media inside it?

and if you go to pure DOS mode and type A: , what happens?
are you able to access it in DOS?

In the START>Settings>CP>System>Device Manager TAB>
is there a floppy or drive Icon listed for A:
what does it say for that drive"s properties (if it exists)
