Hi.Before I go to XP home,I want to make sure of the following.I have two harddrives.Booting on "C" with Win98se.Install Xp home disk in cd rom drive.
When install ask new installation,I say yes.I then specify that I want XP on drive"D".When installation is finished,I should have a dual boot and free to choose the OS I want when starting computer.
Please advise if Iam on the right path to start update.
Thank you.

That worked for me. You don't have to boot to the XP CD, just let autorun start it from Windows.

And be sure to run the compatibility advisor on the CD first so you will have no surprises later. A connection to the Internet at the same time will access the latest update.

If Win98 is running and you put the CD in the drive, you will get a screen with 4 choices:

1. Install Windows XP
2. Install optional Windows components
3. Perform Additional tasks
4. Check system compatibility
