After the os (win98) loads all of the programs on start up, an explorer window opens with the contents of C:\Windows. I have checked the registry and there are no references listed to run the window. I have also checked the Win.ini file and there isn't an entry to "load" or "run" the window. How can I stop this from happening. I want it to display the desktop only on start up?
Thanks

Hi,

Did you apply <a target="_blank" href=http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/950/>this tweak?</a> Create separate processes for the Desktop and explorer?

It appears to have that exact side effect.

Good luck, Tony

I don't remember doing that tweek but I did change the DesktopProcess value to 0 and that did the trick. Thanks for your help!
