Free PC to Mobile SMS (W98)

I would like to know if any freeware is available on the net which can help in giving SMS message to a mobile phone from my PC.(area of operation - INDIA)

Have you tried using the ICQ sms, it works well.

As u suggested I tried sms using ICQ but even though the cellular network that I had sent message to was listed with them,yet the message could not be sent.Can u through some light on it.

Well I have had problems at times sending sms to the UK but everything lately has worked. If you go on ICQ live chat help, they can usually tell you if a system is having problems.
