Greetings.

I am administering a couple of machines that I need to be able to change the default http error messages in IE 5.x/6.x. I've discovered the file that IE uses to create these "friendly" error messages, called shdoclc.dll. Unfortunately, since it is a dll, and images and everything else are imbedded in it, it's difficult at best to alter.

What I'm trying to find is if anyone else has changed their default "friendly" error messages in IE to something more "custom". I don't want to turn them off (that's easy to do), I simply want to give the user more information.

Thanks for your assistance.

Sorry, couldn't resist, you probably aren't looking for humor. Use Resource Hacker anyway.
