What causes errors, especially MSIMN messages when I am using Outlook Express? It seems to have something to do with when I use Word 2000 also, although they may be separate problems.

Well, msimn IS Outlook Express. If your getting msimn errors, its related to something going on in OE. What causes the errors though..wow...so many possibilites. Try to post the error here, and we'll see what we can come up with.

This is my 4th time trying to send this. IE gives me an error message and defaults to my home page.
The last MSIMN error read:
MSIMN caused an invalid page default in module COMCTL32.DLL at 0167:bf68c0f2 (it could be bfb8). When I do a warm reboot, it works okay for awhile, but while I am forwarding my messages to another computer, the errors occur more frequently.

COMCTL32.DLL is the Microsoft common controls DLL. This file is installed by many applications and it may be that the file you have is corrupted or is not compatible with your version of IE. Try reinstalling IE to see if that corrects the problem.

Where can I download Outlook Express 6.0? I don't see that as an option. Linda

I found it and downloaded it, but I still get the MSIMN error when I open Outlook Express. Linda

Linda,

Is it the same error every time referring to the COMCTL32.dll file?

If so what is the version of the file that you have installed?

Cheers
Andy

Linda,

I did a search on invalid page faults with outlook express and although there were none that tied directly to the COMCTL32.dll there were multiple others mentioned. One troubleshooting action that was commonly used was to use the Internet Explorer repair tool. You may want to try this.

The following link provides more details on the invalid page fault error.
