HELLO
I RECENTLY HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOWS OR BROWSER, NOT SURE WHICH, FAIRLY NEW WITH THE COMPUTER. I USED TO ALWAYS BE ABLE TO CLICK ON A FAVORITE ITEM AND OPEN IT, NOW FOR SOME REASON I CLICK ON ONE AND IT WILL NOT OPEN, THE BROWSER SEEMS TO WORK AND WORK AND ONLY WHEN I DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT WILL IT WORK AGAIN. AND THEN ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES,,,,I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY IDEAS , I THINK IT ALSO DOES THE SAME THING WHEN I AM SEARCHING THE WEB ALSO, TAKES FOREVER TO OPEN SITE. MAYBE THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS OR BROWSER PROBLEM EITHER

Don't shout please.
Does it open up pages at all? Cos I would have thought it's a dodgy connection myself, or ya settings are messed about - I had a similar problem which had to be fixed by changing my settings.

Typing in all Caps is akin to shouting at someone. Not considered polite in chat rooms and on forums.

I'm sorry if my typing in all caps offended someone. I had no idea. Now i know, Thanks for the advice.

Everyone's entitled to once. You didn't by chance install ZoneAlarm and then uninstall it?

Not that i know of. How do I check to see if I have it installed?

In Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, there may be an entry for it.

I checked and not in the add/remove programs. It could possibly be a slow connection. I do get some things to open by right clicking and bringing up the open screen. Thanks for the ideas.

Hi,
You could try this:
Start up in MS-DOS.
Type the following lines, each line followed by clicking 'enter':
cd\
cd windows
ren favori~1 oldfav
exit or win (to return to Windows)
On reboot a new Favorites folder will be created.
Move the contents of your Oldfav folder into the new one, and see whether this fixes the problem.
Good luck, Tony
