msn explorer and internet explorer (W98)

what causes internet explorer or msn explorer to restart the computer when connecting to the internet, this happens 1 or 2 times out of 10. help! help! thanks

Hello,

When you say restart do you mean it shuts down and restarts gracefully, or does it just go black and restart the machine?

Normally it shouldn't do either, does it happen with any other programs? And are any error messages shown before or after?

the screen just goes black and the machine restarts, and after a scan it loads and operates normaly. no error messages, happens only when logging on to internet. thank you, maranne.

modifyed modem speeed connections and that seems to fix the problem. also learned that many that glitches can cause this problem. maranne62
