View Full Version : Registry Copying (WXP)

My WinXP Pro connection manager is hosed. Whenever I disconnect, the icon stays in the system tray. If I try to re-connect later, it doesn't; I can't load a web-page. When I eventually shut down, I get a message telling me that a program in the system tray is not responding and I have to click to shut it down before I can turn off my PC. When I boot up again it connects and operates fine. Disconnecting is the problem. So....

I suspect my registry maybe scewed up somewhere (feel free to offer alternative suggestions). I am a neophyte when it comes to registry stuff. I'd like to try copying the relevant values from a working copy of XP to see if that will remedy the problem.

Can anyone direct me to the appropriate sections of the registry, or a decent guide where I can figure it out myself?

Thanks,
Ian.
