View Full Version : Office Place bar -Favorites loc wrong (WNT)

Upgraded user from Office 97 to Office 2000. Now the Places bar >favorites is incorrect gives error when tried to use. Anyone seen this? Will editing the registry fix this?

I haven't seen the problem before, what error message do you receive? Do you have any problems accessing the Favorites from other programs (Word, Internet Explorer, &c)?

I don't have Office installed at the moment but if you open up your registry to here:-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\C ommon\OpenFind\Places\StandardPlaces

You can alter the address of the Favorites to wherever it actually is

Or better yet, open up an Office app and click on "File" and "Open". In the new window that pops up, search for your "Favorites", then click on the "Tools" button and select "Add to my places".
