Euro sysbol not showing up in Windows 2000 PC

I have a PC with Windows 2000 as the operating system. For some reason the Euro Symbol is not showing up and no characters are showing up in its replacement. I would be a fairly good user and so are others in the office but we can't seem to find the problem.
Any suggestions as to what has caused this problem and how we might fix it. (all other currency symbols are showing up ok)

Here is a link to Microsoft about the Euro symbol, maybe there is something there:

It may not get any easier to resist temptation as you get older, but at least you won't have to do it as often.

I also saw there was a Windows Update patch to do with the Euro symbol, you might like to check http://www.winguides.com/ (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/>http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/</a>.
