What event might have made my partitions disappear? A couple of weeks ago I installed Win2K on a new, formatted and partitioned 40 Gigabyte hard drive (I made the C drive approximately 18 Gigs, and 2 more Logical drives each around 10 G. Everything went fine, all my software installed perfectly, and I thought things were humming along just dandy. But, when yesterday I went to defrag the drives, there was only the one 18 gigabyte C drive available to defrag. When I open “My Computer”, it just shows the C drive (with the 18 Gig capacity) followed by my CD, DVD, and Zip drives (Drives F,G, & H)…there’s no sign of drives D & E. When I open the Windows 200 “Disk Management” folder however, it shows one basic, healthy, C drive of 37.2 Gigabytes. These other drives were there a couple of days ago, and although I’ve installed some software recently (Norton SystemWorks 2002), there weren’t any untoward events during that installation. Any ideas of what happened and how I can regain the “missing and presumed hidden” partitions? Thanks

philshantz,

I'd suggest you go to Start>Programs>Administartive Tools>Computer Management and click on Disk Management to view those details.
