IN the BIOS there is an option 'shutdown' or 'power off' by power button an software , check it out!

What if enabling that option in the Bios doesn't work. I mean, it is already enabled, but Win2k still doesn't automatically power off. Any other solution? -Thanks

Did you ever find a viable solution to this? I'm having the same problem on a few different machines. When I change the shutdown setting in the registry to 4 then it shuts down fine. However on the next logon the registry reverts back and I can't shutdown without holding the power button down.

Are you setting PowerdownAfterShutdown to 4 under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon? I thought the only valid values were 0 and 1.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to get a number of ATX Win2K machines to automatically power off. If that key works then you could put it in a .reg file and have it run at startup.
