Howdy,
I have a system dedicated to audio work and need to disable ACPI (it's causing resource conflicts). As I have no obvious BIOS options to disable ACPI and need to fresh install Win2k anyway, I would like to simply edit the ACPI variable in C:\txtsetup.sif and set it to '0'. This should force setup to use the "Standard PC" hal and keep ACPI out of the picture.
Does anyone know how to get to the command prompt after the text portion of the Win2K install has run but before the setup gui has started? Once the gui has started it's too late - the file has already been applied and removed. Is there some non-obvious way to get a command prompt during boot?
Thanks,
