het guys..a friend of mine owns a compaq 700 mhz/64mb ram/20 gig hard (used 1.6).
at shut down he gets the infamous " blue sceen" wich reads something like :" a fatal exception oe ocurred at 0028:f000f841 in vxd ---this was called from 0028:c001bf84 in vxd ndis(01) + 00005aa0.
how do i fix this ??--when i checked for conflicts(msinfo32) it stated error code 22 --something about the irq for pci bridge steering(not sure about the correcct wording)

The code 22 error may be unrelated. These IRQ steering entries are left over when you change hardware and are not normally a problem.

There is a Qarticle on a problem that looks like yours. Check it out and see if it helps.

i got the similar blue screen in win98, it happened to me when i tried to shutdown my computer after playing a few computer games, i tried all kind of stuff but the thing that seemed to work was to update my video card drivers. since i did that i didnt get that error any more.
try it, it might work for u as well.
