This is something I had to dig up for one of my co-workers on the field and I thought it would help some people out. I found it on sprintcomputers.com
When Installing Office 97 Small Business Edition If you receive the following error message when you run the Setup program for Microsoft Excel 97 or Microsoft Word 97:
"This version of Office 97 Small Business Edition will load only on versions of the operating system which have been preinstalled by the PC manufacturer. Contact your PC manufacturer if this product will not load on your PC."
When you click OK, you will receive the following error message: "Microsoft Excel 97 (or Microsoft Word 97) Setup was not completed successfully."
This problem does not occur when the other programs included with Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition, version 1.0, or with any of the programs in Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition, version 2.0 are installed. If you experience these problems you can walk through the following steps:
1. On the Start menu, click Run. In the Open edit box, type "notepad"(WITHOUT quotation marks) and click OK.
2. In Notepad, click Save As on the File menu.
3. In the Save As dialog box, go to the Options folder in the Windows folder (C:\Windows\Options). Then, change the File Name to "opkwiz.tag"(WITH quotation marks). Click Save.
4. On the File menu, click Exit. You should now be able to run the Setup program for Office 97 Small Business Edition, Microsoft Excel 97 or Microsoft Word 97.
I hope this helps someone out there with the same problem.
