The modem use to work, and then
had to load windows me back up due
to no .exe files being found..
Now when I am trying to load aol back up
it says when running the diagnostics.
The modem failed to respond, make sure is properly connected if internal (which it is) Verify that the interrupt for the port is properly set.
I have the std 56000 bps v90 modem.
can you help me...

A Standard 56000 V.90 bps modem means that its not installed correctly. No modem you should ever get will just be called a "Standard" modem, it will always be made by some company with certain drivers needed to make it run. Try to figure out what brand or model it is, and get the specific drivers for the modem installed correctly.

You can download the drivers by typing in the model number at google.com it will give you a list of different sites to go to. The model number should be somewhere on the modem card itself. If it isn't there try a chipset number.
